Holidays, wonderful holidays

Hi all,

 

I have been branching out into the world of quilting during the last term, oh my goodness, what a guilty pleasure it is going to become! And with a quilting shop just around the corner from me it is just too convenient, really!

I have my first FO to show you - a lap quilt/ baby cot sized quilt, block by block, firstly if you will indulge me:

 

 

And, finally, the finished object - TA DA!

There has been knitting also, and I finally got to meet Donna a couple of weekends ago. It has been 6 years of emailing and blogging (or at least 6!) so great to meet at last!

Also, I completed a papercraft project, that I have photos of (it was a gift, and has already been given), and I will show you those next time.

 

We are all going along well here, its just really busy, and now that both little chickens are computer savvy, it is getting harder to get time on the computer for me!

 

Branching out - a new direction

I have been dabbling in the paper arts, and having a lovely time of it these holidays. I made this lovely kit 3 x 3 drawer unit for my dear ol' Mum's birthday:

 

You like-y? Me like-y a lot. I almost kept it for myself. With the rainy and humid weather we had been having over these Easter holidays, I had to wait between coats of paint nad lacquer etc. I also spent a lot of time choosing the papers and working out how to do the steps, as there were no instructions provided.

 

I am very inspired by the paper crafts at the moment (card making, decoration of knick knacks like this and scrapbooking). But the knitting is still a constant. I have to take it a bit easy these days as my hands tell on me if I do too much and they ache and feel hot.
