Diana_flat_out_180205

A pattern from Melissa Leapman's "Hot knits" - the first of several I want to tackle from this book. I like the wide straps to go over my nursing bras and I made a larger size than normal to fit the nursing bust. It is a good fit around the bust so I am happy. I used (Australian) Heirloom 8 ply 100 percent cotton, about half of the yardage the pattern called for.

Finished_dh_socks_140105

Finished_dh_socks_140105

boring socks for my never boring DH Tony - cast on 72 sts and just keep on going. I only made these because he was wearing work socks out to dinner one night and I was appalled

Critter_blankie_081204

DH and I found an injured juvenile native barn owl on the road late one night nad took it to the local vets.

The owl could not be saved, but to say thanks for coming and meeting us and looking at the owl on a Sunday morning, (and then not charging us a fee for putting the poor bird out of its misery) I wanted to make a little something. This is the result was a dc crochet blamkie

My Sitcom chic - here's the pattern reference
http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEspring03/PATTsitcomchic.html

I made a matching woollen hat with Bonne Marie's kind permission with stitch features to match the cardi

I used a fullsome 8 ply in hot pink/ cerise from Nundle Woollen Mills (Australia) and still have some left over!

Rosebudfinal2_261004

Rosebudfinal2_261004

A knitty pattern - here's the link - http://knitty.com/ISSUEspring04/PATTrosebud.html

I used 8 ply 100% wool from Waverley Woollen Mills in Tasmania, Aust in shade "Amethyst". Plenty left over from 3 x 200g skeins.

Dh_jumper_181004

Dh_jumper_181004

This is a jumper I made for my DH - it is a bit too warm for him to wear most of the time, which is a real shame. I also knitted it for myself, and boy, was I ever sick of the pattern after casting this off! Matching his n hers jumpers might look sweet but...

Never again!

Dhscarf181004

Dhscarf181004

I made this scarf for my DH when we were first living in glorious sin because wintertime at Uluru (which was where we were living at the time) was very cold. No pattern - made it up - used a varigated 8 ply Cleckheaton yarn with 70% wool and 30% mohair composition
