I finished sewing up the drop stitch tank on Monday night:
All the shots are self-modelled and are not quite in "perspective", my apologies!
Yes, that is a thread sticking up in the photos on my shoulder, the yet-to-be-attached sc edge should keep that little number in check.
I made many modifications, including
- making the whole garment longer, approx 56 cms long
- making the ribbed section at the waist on the front longer, about 13 cms instead of 10
- using the smaller needle size throughout as I liked the look of the fabric a lot better than when I used the larger needle size
- adding a sc edge to the armholes
- a little gentle shoulder shaping by CO 9sts 3 times, and then CO rem stitches
- not putting buttonholes around the neck facing
- putting a hook and eye closure at the top of the neck
- doing 5 pattern repeats at the bottom edge instead of 3
- instead of doing a YO increase, picking up the middle leg between the stitches on the odd row side to make the gap smaller
- I still intend to add a crocheted edge to the top of the neck to finish it off
I think this fits better than if I had not done the mods, and that is what it is all about after all! I used all of 6 balls and will have to go into the 7th ball for the neck edging. Handy information to know.
As for the sock-yarn-that-sang, it is spiralling, so off to the frog pond it will go ... I knitted almost half a sock, just for the pleasure of it...
