Chart 4

I had the afternoon off work and  took a little time to sit alone with my lace and the Knitpicks needle sent to me by the very generous Bron and comtemplate my lovely lavender Icarus.

I have made it into Chart 4!!!

(Now, not a very exciting photo I grant you, nonetheless I am disproportionately pleased with myslelf)

I have learned my lesson from a recent near miss when many of the stiches came off the needles whilst in transit and laddering down (one of the leaves will never be quite the same) and put in a lifeline.

Chart 4 - you've come a long way, baby! There are about 30 rows to go and I have started worrying about having enough yarn.

Worrying about not having enough yarn is a great motivator in my experience. Lets see how that translates into practice!

By way of postscript, yesterday, in my tired-beyond-tired haze, I forgot to upload the picture of the leftover yarn from my mystery project , so without further ado, here it is, the leftovers

Any guesses?

Go show your hubby, and tell them to be grateful. I did, but I think mine was more frightened by the possibilities... ;o)

300 stitches to a row

Ariann has all the pieces put together now, and that is what  you end up with - 300 stitches to a row.

3 rows tonight  - no small achievement.

And now, to bed.

Some more shots, and not 'cause my photography is so great

I love leaving the kids toys in the photos. Makes 'em seem more representative of my life as a whole somehow.
There is something about me and the tweed at the moment (way overexposed, forgive me):Dsc01501

And this is just beautiful yarn, slightly over exposed, but demanding  to be photographed  in pure sunlight! Somehow I am thinking this yarn is going to be telling me what to do, lol ~!!

It is the start of something beatiful, my Ariann...
(Do your yarn purchases run a theme? Mine is really bending towards tweedy goodness at the moment) More later, Anon!

today's knitting moment

I have decided to try a new style of knitting blog entry: the stolen blog/ knitting moment. It's not like I have run to of things to say, I just run out of time to say them in!

So, to try out the new blog style, today's knitting stolen moment is brought to you, thanks to a phone conversation with Donni! You see, she sent me a parcel with birthday goodies in it, and I phoned her up tonight to say my heartfelt thanks. Her parcel was just gorgeous, pics to follow...

It was so lovely to talk and just be yourself with someone whom you have not met, but who knows so much about you that you immediately feel comfortable. Such a juxtaposition, but well worth taking the leap for (I was a little nervous before phoning up). Thanks Donni, you made me feel right at ease straight away!

I am taking tomorrow off from work, as I need to stop and take some care of myself. There is a massage involved, and afternoon tea complete with a playdate for the kids later in the day, and guess what is going to fill in the interim?

Yes, that long (it seems to me) estranged habit of mine... knitting!

(I also want to take some photos in the sun of my latest knittng ventures, so that assures you of a second promise of knitting photos!)

Much more to tell,

I'll post tomorrow,

If all goes well;

in another stolen,

knitting,

moment.
