Shine-y Shine-y

Here is the Shiny yarn I bought a couple of months ago for a little girl's scarf. She's about 9 years old. Her birthday and Christmas are separated by only a handful of days.

This yarn was a Spotlight special @$1 a ball, and although its been fun and all, I am donating the remainder of t h Spotlight yarn to Ian's kindy for craft activities. Just sayin', Shine-y Yarn, It's. Ova.

Yarn: Moda Vera "Embrace", carried with yarn left over from the Ladder Stitch Cardi, which gave the fabric body and substance.
Needles: Yellow plastic 7.5 mm from Mum's collection
Pattern: The Yarn Harlots one row scarf pattern. Go down to Oct 12. How time flies!

(I bet the stitch pattern has never quite looked like this, though!)

One more Xmas knit crossed off the list! Phew!

Oink: I'm a yarn pig, and loving it

Okay, first, pics of the mail haul:
This will be 2 cotton jumpers for me, a teapot cosy and a teapot mat; all from Jo Sharp Knit Issue 2: The jumpers are the Lace Panel Jumper/ Sweater and the plain cotton jumper/ sweater & will be made with the Evening and Chambra colourways.

Donna,  Terri and I are going to knit the Lace Panel Jumper/ Sweater at the same time and are having our own little knitalong. Let us know if you are also going to knit this jumper so that we can link to you!

This will be 2 kids knits, before Xmas, if I can make it:

I must confess, I love my knicknacks, and I couldn't resist ordering some bits and pieces. In for a penny, in for a pound, that sort of thing:

I have been looking for a stamp to use on the back of my handmade cards for some time, like years, as a sort of "signature". So I resisted these stamps for a few weeks, but then thought what the hey. I love the labels and can't wait to use one. I'm going to try and retrofit one on the Ladder Stitch cardi, which is almost complete!

There are a couple of other Xmas knits that I really must get cracking on. I've updated the sidebar. Take a deep breath, I'm going to be busy!

How many have your name?

Courtesy of Anne. As regards my score of ZERO, in all fairness, my surname is more than a little unusual...

One more red dishcloth bites the dust tonight, weighing 28 grams. I still have 30 grams of Cotton Ease left, so with one more, I'll be all done with the dishcloths and another WIP can also  get scratched off the list. Yay!

Dishcloths

I told you that no Cotton Ease would go to waste, and I intend to stick to my word!

Now you see it:

Now you don't:

And dishcloth no 2 is following suit:

Kinda like an envelope, only with nice smells inside!

These are going to live in my smalls drawer untill the elves have to wrap later on in the year.

A big thanks to the Stripey Tiger, aka Sharon who provided me the link to the hottest dishcloth pattern du jour, thus saving me buying the Mason Dixon book. I don't have anything against knitters earning money from their creativity, it's just that the book as a whole does not leap out at me and say "buy me, buy me" so I won't.

I am keeping the ends so you can see what is left over - at the moment, there is no more blue, and enough pink to make dishie no 3 a twin for dishie no 2; then it will be the downhill slide for the last ball of purple and only the red ball to go.
